Went 5-5 yesterday to start the week. Not where we want to be, but it could have been worse. Full 15 games today, so let’s get picking!
April 14, 2026 Picks:
Arizona at Baltimore:
Merrill Kelly makes his first start of the season for the Diamondbacks, while the Orioles counter with their best pitcher in Trevor Rogers. Kelly was a solid pitcher for a while, but struggled in 2025. We expect more of the same as Baltimore gets the win behind another solid outing by Rogers. Pick: Baltimore
Chicago Cubs at Philadelphia:
We were not expecting the slug fest we saw yesterday between these two teams, when 20 runs were scored, but that can happen when the Phillies play. Every once in awhile this team gets hot at the plate and punishes baseballs, and we expect that to be the case again today. Pick: Philadelphia
Kansas City at Detroit:
Framber Valdez has not been the pitcher the Tigers expected when they signed him to a huge offseason deal, and he gets the nod here against Detroit’s AL Central rival. Cole Ragans also has been hit hard this year, so we expect a lot of runs, just more by the Royals. Kansas City gets the win. Pick: Kansas City
San Francisco at Cincinnati:
Robbie Ray looks to continue his hot start in 2026 as the Giants face off against the Reds in Cincinnati. It’s safe to say that Ray has been the lone bright spot for a struggling San Francisco team, and that will continue today as he leads the Giants to another victory. Pick: San Francisco
Washington at Pittsburgh:
Paul Skenes got 16 runs of support yesterday against the Nationals, and Mitch Keller had to be hoping they would save some for today. Going up against Miles Mikolas, the Pirates will have some left in the tank. Pittsburgh scores early and often and gets another win against a struggling Nationals team. Pick: Pittsburgh
Los Angeles Angels at New York Yankees:
We were expecting a lot of runs yesterday between these two teams, but no one could have expected two home runs from both Mike Trout and Aaron Judge in the 11-10 Yankees win. With Reid Detmers and Ryan Weathers pitching for their respective clubs, we expect more offensive fireworks and the Yankees once again coming out on top. Pick: New York Yankees
Miami at Atlanta:
Reynaldo Lopez returns from his seven game suspension for fighting today, facing a Marlins lineup that exploded for ten runs yesterday. In the three games before that however, they scored a combined three runs. We expect that yesterday was an aberration and Lopez and the Braves will cruise to victory. Lock it in. Pick: Atlanta (Lock)
Boston at Minnesota:
These are two teams that we just don’t know what to do with. Boston was supposed to compete for a division title, but their offense has been terrible in a 6-10 start. Minnesota was supposed to be in the basement of the AL Central, but their offense has led them to the top of the division. We still don’t fully trust Sonny Gray, so we are going with the status quo to remain today for both teams. Pick: Minnesota
Tampa Bay at Chicago White Sox:
Just the fact that Shane McClanahan is pitching is a victory for the Rays, after he missed the last two years with injury. Before that he was one of the best starters in the American League, and while we don’t think he will ever get back to that, he will pitch well enough today to lead the Rays to victory. Pick: Tampa Bay
Toronto at Milwaukee:
Kevin Gausman has only given up four runs in three starts, but doesn’t have a win to show for his stellar start to the season. That is because the Blue Jays have scored a combined four runs in his three starts, which is why is record is 0-1 despite a 2.08 ERA. We expect more of the same, a low scoring affair, but ultimately the Blue Jays will come out on top and give Gausman his first win of the season. Pick: Toronto
Cleveland at St. Louis:
Who would have expected that Joey Cantillo and Michael McGreevy would have sub 2.5 ERA’s almost a month in the season? No one, that’s who. Cantillo and McGreevy were solid but unspectacular starters last year, but this year both have been lights out. We are going to give the slight edge to the Guardians, who will score enough off of McGreevy to get the win.
Colorado at Houston:
Colorado has already swept Houston in three games this year at home, and now heads to Houston looking to do more of the same. The Astros have lost eight in a row after a 6-3 start, including a three game sweep by the Rockies and a four game sweep by the Mariners. Now that they are back at home, the losing streak will end and Houston will get their first win in ten days. Pick: Houston
Seattle at San Diego:
All it took for the Mariners to get back in the win column was to face their fiercest rival in the Houston Astros. After a four game sweep, the Mariners head south in the first matchup of the Eddie Vedder cup. The Mariners have won it the last two years, and will get off to a good start this year with a win today. Pick: Seattle
Texas at Athletics:
MacKenzie Gore looks to continue his hot start in Sacramento as the Rangers face the Athletics. The Gore trade is looking good for the Rangers, and that will continue today as he leads Texas to victory. Pick: Texas
New York Mets at Los Angeles Dodgers:
Nolan McLean against Yoshinobu Yamamoto is a very good pitching matchup. These are two of the most talented young pitchers in the National League not named Paul Skenes, and they will show why today. This will be a low scoring game, but the Dodgers will find a way to win. Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers
Happy picking everyone!
