We went 5-5 yesterday. We are still six games over .500 for the week and we have a full slate of games today. Let’s get to it!
Arizona at Chicago Cubs:
Arizona has Corbin Burnes going, and he is struggled to start the year. He is winless in his first three starts in a Diamondbacks uniform. Will today be the day he turns it around? We don’t think so. Give us the Cubs to get the win. Pick: Chicago Cubs
Win
Cleveland at Pittsburgh:
Paul Skenes isn’t starting for the Pirates, so we are going with the Guardians here. Pick: Cleveland
Win
Kansas City at Detroit:
Yesterday Detroit ran Kansas City’s losing streak to four, and today they have former first round pick Jackson Jobe looking to make it five. Jobe has been a rock star since the start of the season, and that will continue today. Give us the Tigers to win the game. Pick: Detroit
Win
Miami at Philadelphia:
Sandy Alcantara vs Zack Wheeler? This is probably the best pitching matchup of the day. You have a former Cy Young winner against a guy that has finished in the top three multiple times. We are going to go with the Phillies here because of their advantage offensively, but it should be a fun one. Pick: Philadelphia
Win
Cincinnati at Baltimore:
This matchup is definitely not as good as the one above, with Andrew Abbott and Cade Povich squaring off. The Reds have been just awful defensively, committing four errors yesterday. Baltimore is much more disciplined, and that is why they will come out on top today. Pick: Baltimore
Loss
New York Yankees at Tampa Bay:
Carlos Rodon has been roughed up his last couple starts. He has already given up five home runs this year, and now he is pitching in a hitter-friendly stadium. That is not a good combination. Give us the Rays to hit a couple out today off Rodon, and get the win. Pick: Tampa Bay
Loss
Seattle at Toronto:
Two teams that rely on their pitching are squaring off in this one. Bryan Woo has been great for the Mariners this year, while Bowden Francis has just been okay. The Mariners are starting to play more like the team we thought they would be this season, and that is good thing. We like them here today. Pick: Seattle
Loss
Chicago White Sox at Boston
Chicago has won four games this season. Two of them were against the Red Sox. The Red Sox will be looking for revenge at home and will get it today. This is our lock. Pick: Boston (Lock)
Win (Lock Record 10-12)
St. Louis at New York Mets:
With Miles Mikolas pitching for the Cardinals, this feels like a slam dunk for the Mets. So that is where we are going. Pick: New York Mets
Win
Minnesota at Atlanta:
After a horrid start, the Braves are showing signs of life. They have gone 4-6 in their last ten games while, not great, is certainly better than the 1-7 start they had. We think that solid stretch of play continues and the Braves get the win. Pick: Atlanta
Win
Los Angeles Dodgers at Texas:
It is the last two World Series winners! We still can’t believe that Texas won the 2023 World Series, especially after they fell off a cliff last year. They are playing really good baseball to start the season, and find themselves in first place in the American League West. Meanwhile the Dodgers are the Dodgers, winning 14 out of 20 to start the season. This will be a good series but we give the edge today to the Rangers, who are throwing Jacob DeGrom. Pick: Texas
Loss
Athletics at Milwaukee:
The Athletics are in for a rude awakening after cake walking through the last three games. That is what happens when you play the White Sox. We think Milwaukee will take it to them and win comfortably today. Pick: Milwaukee
Win
San Diego at Houston
This is a game between two teams that are expecting to make the playoffs. You would expect a good pitching matchup right? In this one we have… Kyle Hart and Ryan Gusto squaring off. Yeah, I’m sure you are as surprised as we are. Anyways, we are going with the Astros here because they are at home. Pick: Houston
Win
Washington at Colorado:
This is a pitching matchup between two of the best young pitchers in baseball. MacKenzie Gore for the Nationals and Chase Dollander for the Rockies are facing each other in this one. Dollander pitched well in his last start against the Padres but got no run support. That will be different today. Give us the Rockies to win and for Dollander to get the first win of his career. Pick: Colorado
San Francisco at Los Angeles Angels
The Angels have come back to Earth a little bit, having lost four games in a row. Now they are facing a Giants team that is still hitting the cover off the ball. The Angels pitching is not good, so this is an easy pick for us. Pick: San Francisco
Loss
Happy picking everyone!
