We only had three games yesterday, but we had a 2-1 record. We have a full slate today with every team in action, so look below to see who we like.
April 3rd, 2026 Picks:
Los Angeles Dodgers at Washington:
Miles Mikolas has been a below average pitcher for a few years now. Emmet Sheehan is an up and comer for an obviously superior Dodgers team. So why are we taking the Nationals in this one? Sometimes you have to go with your gut, and our gut is saying that Washington will win this one. Pick: Washington. Loss
St. Louis at Detroit:
Framber Valdez makes his second start of the season against a Cardinals team that is exceeding expectations. His first start was good, and we think this one will be as well. Give us the Tigers to win at home. Pick: Detroit. Win
Miami at New York Yankees:
This is the first true test for the Marlins. After winning five out of six against the lowly Rockies and White Sox, Miami heads to the Bronx to face a real baseball team. However, we give the Marlins the pitching advantage here, and that is why we are going to go with them to win. Pick: Miami. Loss
San Diego at Boston:
Sonny Gray has been a good pitcher when he doesn’t have any pressure on him. Unfortunately, now that he is with the Red Sox, he has a ton of pressure. That has usually been bad for Gray and the past, and it won’t change here. San Diego will get to him early and often, and will win this one comfortably. Pick: San Diego. Loss
Toronto at Chicago White Sox:
Who did the Blue Jays bribe to open the season against the Athletics, Rockies and White Sox? Even with that easy schedule, Toronto actually lost two out of three against Colorado, which good teams do not do. They will take out their frustration against a White Sox team that has allowed 52 runs in six games. That is insane! This is our lock of the day. Pick: Toronto (Lock). Loss (Lock record 1-2)
Cincinnati at Texas:
Everything we read this offseason said the Reds have a great pitching staff, but didn’t do enough to their offense. So far all of those predictions are true, as the Reds are 3-3, despite only scoring 17 runs in 6 games. Their pitching has kept them in most of the games, and Texas has a pitchers park. We are going to go with the Reds to continue the trend and win a low scoring game against the Rangers. Pick: Cincinnati. Win
Chicago Cubs at Cleveland:
We honestly don’t know who to pick in this one. The pitchers are a wash, and these teams are very similar in our eyes. The advantage will probably go to the Guardians bullpen, and for that reason we are picking Cleveland to get the win. Pick: Cleveland. Win
Tampa Bay at Minnesota:
This is the last game we predicted, because this is just not a game we care about. Tampa Bay is solid but not spectacular and Minnesota is a dumpster fire. We know they won yesterday, but we don’t think they will have many winning streaks this year. For that reason alone we are going with the Rays. Pick: Tampa Bay. Loss
Philadelphia at Colorado:
Colorado just took two out of three against the Blue Jays. We don’t think they will do it again. Yes, Philadelphia has not looked good this year, but they are still a much more talented team than the Rockies. The Phillies will roll in this one. Pick: Philadelphia. Win
Baltimore at Pittsburgh:
This game is between two below average starting pitchers. The offenses of both teams have holes as well, so this game is truly a toss up in our opinion. With that being said, Baltimore is slightly further along in our opinion, so that is who we are going to pick in this one. Pick: Baltimore. Loss
Milwaukee at Kansas City:
Milwaukee has outscored their opponents 45-17 in the first six games of the season. That plus 28 run differential is the best in all of baseball. Yes, it has been against the White Sox and Rays, but they are doing what good teams are supposed to do. That is beat up on the bad teams. Kansas City is not a bad team, but they aren’t as good as Milwaukee. Pick: Milwaukee. Postponed
Seattle at Los Angeles Angels:
Bryan Woo didn’t win his last start but pitched really well. Combine that with the fact that the Mariner offense couldn’t be worse, and we are going to ride with Seattle to win their first road game of the season. Pick: Seattle. Win
Atlanta at Arizona:
Grant Holmes and Eduardo Rodriguez take the hill for these two respective teams. That is about as average as you can get. Rodrigues hasn’t been good for four years, and Holmes has a career record of 6-11. Which offense do you trust more. By the slimmest of margins we are going with the Braves. Pick: Atlanta. Win
Houston at Athletics:
Jeffrey Springs was the Athletics best starting pitcher last year. He had an 11-11 record. That kind of mediocrity is not going to get you far against a Houston lineup that is licking their chops. Sacramento is a hitters paradise, and the Astros will take advantage and get the win. Pick: Houston. Loss
New York Mets at San Francisco:
Nolan McLean did not have a good first turn thru the Mets rotation. He is too good of a pitcher to struggle for long, and the Giants offense is not good. This is a perfect spot for him to get it turned around and we say he will. Pick: New York Mets. Win
Happy picking everyone!
