April 5, 2026 Picks:

Baltimore at Pittsburgh:

Braxton Ashcraft is no Paul Skenes, but he is a very solid starting pitcher. We think this is the game the Pirates will get enough runs for Ashcraft to earn the win. Pick: Pittsburgh. Win

Los Angeles Dodgers at Washington:

We picked the Nationals on Friday and were wrong. We picked the Dodgers on Saturday and were right. We are going against the sweep here and going with Washington to get the win. It feels weird to pick the Nationals twice in this series, but that is where we are. Pick: Washington. Loss

Miami at New York Yankees:

Max Fried against the Marlins office. Lock it down! Pick: New York Yankees (Lock). Loss (Lock Record 2-3)

San Diego at Boston:

Walker Buehler is facing his former team, and the Red Sox are delighted to see him on the mound. Boston is going to score early and often against him, and win this one comfortably. Pick: Boston. Loss

Chicago Cubs at Cleveland:

We are going to go with the Cubs in this one, because Edward Cabrera is on the mound. He is one of the best young pitchers in all of baseball and he will show it today as Chicago cruises to the win. Pick: Chicago Cubs. Win

Milwaukee at Kansas City:

Kyle Harrison and Kris Bubic. Their careers could be switched and we wouldn’t know which is which. Two average pitchers mean we are going with the best offense, which in this case as the Brewers. Pick: Milwaukee. Win

Tampa Bay at Minnesota:

We think Simeon Woods Richardson has talent and will be a staple in the Twins rotation for years to come. He just needs to work on his control and keeping the ball in the ball park. Tampa Bay doesn’t hit many home runs, and while they do take their fair share of walks, we think that Woods Richardson and the Twins will come out on top. Pick: Minnesota. Loss

Toronto at Chicago White Sox:

Normally this would be an easy Blue Jays pick for us. But the way they have been playing against the Rockies and White Sox do not give us much hope. Toronto was our lock on Friday and lost in extra innings. We picked the White Sox yesterday. We are going back with the Blue Jays, but not with a lot of confidence. Pick: Toronto. Loss

Cincinnati at Texas:

Chase Burns vs Jack Leiter is another matchup like Rhett Lowder vs Kumar Rocker. Both of these teams have invested heavily in starting pitching early in drafts, and these two pitchers are part of that. We like Burns more than Leiter, which is why we are going with the Reds to get the win. Pick: Cincinnati. Win

Philadelphia at Colorado:

Not overthinking this. We picked the Phillies on Friday and they dominated. We picked the Phillies again on Saturday. We are picking the Phillies on Sunday as well. Playing in Colorado is exactly what Philadelphia needed. Pick: Philadelphia. Loss

Houston at Athletics:

Lance McCullers Jr doesn’t have a lot left in the tank in our opinion. Pitching in this ball park will not be good for him. We expect a lot of runs by both teams in this game, but more by the Athletics. Pick: Athletics. Win

New York Mets at San Francisco:

Logan Webb give the Giants a huge pitching advantage in this one. While the Mets have a better offense than the Giants, we are still going to go with San Francisco to get the win. Pick: San Francisco. Loss

Seattle at Los Angeles Dodgers:

We picked the Mariners Friday and Saturday. We are tripling down and picking them again today. If Luis Castillo can replicate what he did against the Yankees last week look out. The Mariners bats will come around, but if their pitching can continue to dominate, this team will win a lot of games. Pick: Seattle. Loss

Atlanta at Arizona:

At the time of writing we don’t know who is throwing for the Braves. We do know that it will be Brandon Pfaadt for the Diamondbacks. We don’t know if that is a good thing or bad thing for Arizona, but we are going with the latter. We think the Braves will score enough off of Pfaadt and win the game, despite not knowing who is pitching for them. Pick: Atlanta. Loss

St. Louis at Detroit:

Justin Verlander really struggled the first two months of last year. This year we think it will be more of the same, and even though the Cardinals’ are not a good baseball team, they will score enough runs to get the win today. Pick: St. Louis. Win

Happy picking everyone!
