Tampa Bay at New York Yankees:
Clark Schmidt is throwing for the Yankees, and he hasn’t been very good this year. We like the Rays to take advantage and get the win. Pick: Tampa Bay
Houston at Chicago White Sox:
We know what we said yesterday, that the White Sox were going to win a game in this series. We didn’t pick them yesterday and we sure aren’t picking them today with Hunter Brown pitching. There is always tomorrow! Pick: Houston
New York Mets at St. Louis:
We are going with the Cardinals today, only because they are good at home and we picked them to lose yesterday. Sometimes you just have to play the averages. Pick: New York Mets
Cleveland at Toronto:
The biggest problem with Kevin Gausman this year is he has already walked 11 hitters. That is almost two per start. Those extra base runners have put him in stressful situations too often, and he hasn’t gotten deep into games because of that. That will continue against a patient Guardians lineup that doesn’t mind taking a free pass. Pick: Cleveland
San Diego at Pittsburgh:
Padres are good. Pirates are bad. Sometimes it is as simple as that. Pick: San Diego
Colorado at San Francisco:
This might be a surprise but we are going with the Rockies here. The reason why is simple. Jordan Hicks is not a good starting pitcher. He is unreliable, and that will help spark a Rockies win. Pick: Colorado
Minnesota at Boston:
At the time of writing Boston’s starting pitcher is undecided. When we have seen that this year, the team that is undecided usually loses. Based on that logic we are going with the Twins. Pick: Minnesota
Athletics at Miami:
Other than his last start, Max Meyer has been pretty good for the Marlins this year. We think that was just a bump in the road and he will get back to his winning ways today, leading the Marlins to victory. Pick: Miami
Arizona at Philadelphia:
What is wrong with Aaron Nola? We keep expecting him to bounce back, but he keeps letting us down. We are going with the diamondbacks to continue his struggles and get the win today. Pick: Arizona
Washington at Cincinnati:
As good as Hunter Greene has been, Nick Lodolo has been right there with him. Those two give the Reds a 1-2 punch to build for the future. Lock it in, the Reds take care of business. Cincinnati (Lock)
Seattle at Texas:
Patrick Corbin against a Mariners team that is hitting the cover off the ball on the road. This is an easy one for us. Pick: Seattle
Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee:
Jose Quintana has been marvelous for the Brewers (and our fantasy team) this year. We think that will continue as he will stifle the hot Cubs bats and lead the Brewers to victory. Pick: Milwaukee
Kansas City at Baltimore:
A gut feeling here, but we are taking the Orioles. No reason other than feeling. Pick: Baltimore
Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta:
Today is the day that we are picking the Braves to beat the Dodgers for the first time. Roki Sasaki is still trying to figure it out, and he won’t today against a Braves lineup that will take advantage. Pick: Atlanta
Detroit at Los Angeles Angels:
Jack Flaherty has pitched pretty well this year, but doesn’t have much to show for it. His ERA is 3.34, which is better than average, but his record is just 1-3. The Tigers have been shut out twice in his starts this year, but that won’t be the case today. They will hit Kyle Hendricks hard and often, and Flaherty will get win #2. Pick: Detroit
Happy picking everyone!
