Another great day yesterday! Even though we missed our lock, we had one of the best days in Sports Predictions history, going 12-3. Another day today, with 15 more games!
Cleveland at Washington:
Michael Soroka is making his second start for the Nationals in this one. The first one did not go well. This one will not either. Pick: Cleveland
Houston at Milwaukee:
The Astros now find themselves in fourth place in the American League West, even though they have a positive run differential. This team is probably better than their record, and have a winning streak in them soon. We like the Astros today. Pick: Houston (Lock)
Pittsburgh at St. Louis:
Don’t look now, but the Cardinals have won four in a row. Yes, all four games came at home, but the one today is at home as well. We like the Cardinals to make it five in a row and get the sweep over the Pirates. Pick: St. Louis
San Francisco at Chicago Cubs:
That was quite an epic collapse by the Cubs yesterday. After getting the games into extra innings, the Giants scored nine runs in the 11th inning to take the win. Both teams will need to have their starters give them some innings today, and we are more confident in Robbie Ray than Ben Brown. Giants take the game and the series. Pick: San Francisco
Seattle at Athletics:
Gunnar Hoglund looked really good in his Major League debut last week, and now he has his first home start against the Mariners. We don’t think the Athletics are a better team than the Mariners, so we like Seattle to get the win and take the series, which would be their ninth series win in a row. Pick: Seattle
New York Mets at Arizona:
with Kodai Senga on the mound, all the Mets have to do is score three runs and they will win the game. Senga has only allowed five runs all year, so it is up to the offense to get him some support. They will today and will help Senga get his fourth win of the season. Pick: New York Mets
Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami:
The Marlins will not take the series from the Dodgers. After winning yesterday they have a chance, but we just don’t see it. Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers
Texas at Boston:
Tanner Houck is still looking for his first win of the season. He has already pitched once against the Rangers, and probably pitched well enough to get the win. He is looked much better as of late, and will finally get his first win of the season today. Pick: Boston
Philadelphia at Tampa Bay:
Christopher Sanchez is the latest Phillies starting reclamation project that is successful. At 28 years old, he is on pace for the best year of his career. Opposite Sanchez is Shane Baz, who has not allowed a run in two starts against National League teams. We think he will give up a run today, but will still pitch well enough to get the win. Pick: Tampa Bay
San Diego at New York Yankees:
Max Fried has been one of the best pitchers in baseball the first month of the season. With injuries to a couple starters, the Yankees have had to lean on him more than expected, and he has delivered. He continues to deliver today as the Yankees take this one. Pick: New York Yankees
Cincinnati at Atlanta:
The Braves have won three games in a row, and are now just one game under .500 after that abysmal start. They won’t get to .500 today, because Hunter Greene is going to shut them down. Pick: Cincinnati
Baltimore at Minnesota:
Normally we wouldn’t pick the Twins to get the sweep against the Orioles. However, we are today because Baltimore is throwing Charlie Morton today. Morton looks completely washed, and is trying to avoid becoming the first seven game loser in baseball. He won’t avoid it today. Pick: Minnesota
Chicago White Sox at Kansas City:
We are going to do it today. We are going to pick the Chicago White Sox to win a game. We know that if we just picked them and the Rockies to lose every game, we would come out way on top, but that isn’t fun. After looking at the matchup, we do think that the White Sox will win today. Pick: Chicago White Sox
Detroit at Colorado:
Dollander is finally throwing today. We talked about him earlier this week, and while we think he will be a quality starting pitcher for a long time, he isn’t there yet. Pick: Detroit
Toronto at Los Angeles Angels:
Yusei Kikuchi is another pitcher that is looking for his first win of the season. He has actually pitched well at home, he just has gotten no help. That will continue today, as Jose Berrios and the Blue Jays win a low scoring game. Pick: Toronto
Happy picking everyone!
