We went 1-1 in our first two games yesterday. We have a full slate today, so let’s get to it! All wins and losses are against the spread FYI.

Cleveland (-1.5) at New York:

These were the top two teams in the East last year in terms of record. Now they will probably be the class of the conference again, as the East isn’t very good this year. In this game we like the Knicks to win the game, just because it at home. Pick: New York 109 Cleveland 103. (Win)

Brooklyn at Charlotte (-4.5):

Brooklyn is bringing basically an entire new roster from last season. It will take time for the team to gel, but they don’t have the toughest opponent today. We don’t think Charlotte is going to very good this year. They will be able to score, but they won’t be able to stop anyone. We like the Hornets to cover in a high scoring affair in this one. Pick: Charlotte 128 Brooklyn 121. (Win)

Miami at Orlando (-8.5):

Orlando is the talk of the East, with the move for Desmond Bane making them a big favorite for a high seed in the conference. With that being said, this line is way too high against a Miami team that still has Eric Spoelstra on its bench. We think the Magic get the win, but they don’t cover. Pick: Orlando 108 Miami 104. (Win)

Toronto at Atlanta (-5.5):

The other team in the East that everyone is talking about is the Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta had a great summer, and we will see if it will translate to more wins. The moves Toronto has made the last few years has confused the hell out of us. They are paying Scottie Barnes like he is one of the best players in the league. He is good, but not worth his contract. Give us the Hawks here. Pick: Atlanta 114 Toronto 102. (Loss)

Philadelphia at Boston (-3.5):

These two teams hate each other. Boston and Philadelphia have been running the east for what seems like a decade, but both teams come into the season with questions. The Celtics are going to run without Jayson Tatum, but will they hit enough shots to be competitive? Meanwhile, what are the 76ers going to get from Joel Embiid? This will be an interesting season for these two teams, but today the Celtics will hit enough shots to cover. Pick: Boston 121 Philadelphia 108. (Loss)

Detroit (-3.5) at Chicago:

Detroit was a tough out last season, as they play intense, hard nosed basketball. They are facing a Chicago team that we have heard called “soft” on more than one occasion. The Pistons will be out to prove that last year was not a fluke, and they will take it to the Bulls today. We like Detroit in a low scoring game to cover. Pick: Detroit 97 Chicago 90. (Loss)

New Orleans at Memphis (-4.5):

New Orleans offseason was an unmitigated disaster. They traded an unprotected pick in next years draft to move up and select Derek Queen, which was the worst move of the entire offseason. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies look to bounce back and have a healthy Ja Morant right now. When Morant is healthy, the Grizzlies are good. That is why we are going with Memphis to cover today. Pick: Memphis 110 New Orleans 97. (Win)

Washington at Milwaukee (-8.5):

Washington is going to be really bad this year. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Wizards have the worst record in the entire NBA. Meanwhile, the Bucks still have Giannis. That alone is worth the cover in this one. Pick: Milwaukee 125 Washington 107. (Win)

Los Angeles Clippers (-10.5) at Utah:

The team that will be in competition with the Wizards for the worst record in the league is the Utah Jazz. Utah has a lot of young pieces, but are still waiting to win the lottery and get that cornerstone player. The Clippers are looking forward to actually getting on the court, after a summer of controversy. We actually like Utah to cover in this one, just because we think Los Angeles will be distracted. Pick: Los Angeles Clippers 108 Utah 103. (Win)

San Antonio at Dallas (-2.5):

The Cooper Flagg era begins in Dallas tonight as the Mavericks and Spurs square off. Flagg vs Wembanyama will be a fun rivalry for the next decade and it begins tonight. With no Kyrie for Dallas, we like the supporting cast of the Spurs a little bit better. Plus, Wemby has proven that he is ready for the spotlight. Give us San Antonio to get the win. Pick: San Antonio 108 Dallas 102. (Win)

Sacramento at Phoenix (-3.5):

This line is absurd. Phoenix has Devin Booker and…. who? Jalen Green? They lost Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant in the offseason, and the vibes aren’t good. Meanwhile, the Kings are looking rebound after a rough season last year. We like Sacramento to be a tough out in the loaded West, and they will win comfortably today. Pick: Sacramento 117 Phoenix 102. (Loss)

Minnesota (-4.5) at Portland:

We think Portland is going to surprise some people this year. They are going to be competitive, and if they were in the East, they would have a chance at a top four side. Despite that, Minnesota is a team coming off back to back conference finals appearances, and we think they could take another step this year. Anthony Edwards is our favorite player to watch in the NBA, and he will lead the Wolves to a win today. Pick: Minnesota 113 Portland 105. (Loss)

Happy picking everyone!
