Philadelphia (-3.5) at Washington:

As long as the backcourt of VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey keep combining for almost 70 points a game, the 76ers are going to win a lot of basketball games. Joel Embiid didn’t play yesterday, and it is anyone’s guess if he will play today. Despite that, this line is too low. We are going with Philadelphia to win comfortably. Charlotte at Miami (-6.5):

Both of these teams are 2-1 to start the young season, and it is a mild surprise for both. Charlotte hasn’t beaten anyone good, while Miami is continuing to define Heat culture by winning games despite an average roster. This game is in Miami, which will give the Heat a big advantage and help them cover the spread. Pick: Miami 114 Charlotte 101 (Win)

New York (-1.5) at Milwaukee:

Like the previous game, this matchup features two 2-1 teams. That is not as surprising, especially with the Knicks, who are winning games with their defense. The Bucks offense is strong, and so we are going to take the home team to get the win in a close game. Pick: Milwaukee 107 New York 104 (Win)

Sacramento at Oklahoma City (-10.5):

We know the Kings aren’t very good this year. We know that this game is in Oklahoma City. We also know that the Thunder played in Dallas yesterday and didn’t cover that spread. The same thing will happen today. We are taking the points, but believe the Thunder will get the win. Pick: Oklahoma City 104 Sacramento 97 (Win)

Los Angeles Clippers (-1.5) at Golden State:

This line was originally surprising to us, then we realized that an aging Warriors team played yesterday. The Clippers have won two games in a row after an inexplicable loss to the Jazz to start the season, and looks like it might be putting their offseason drama in the rear view mirror. Despite playing yesterday, we still like the Warriors to come out on top in this one. Pick: Golden State 109 Los Angeles Clippers 105 (Win)
